Job Title: Sewing Machinist
Responsible To: Work Room Supervisor
Hours: Full Time – Mon- Thu 0800-1630, Fri 0800-1330
Pay: Hourly – Rate depending on age and basic level skillset

Role & Responsibilities:
- Sewing bespoke garments
- Hand sewing
- Understanding of garment construction
- Competency in understanding garment specifications
- Prepares machine by changing needles and thread; securing attachments
- Braiding
- Understanding of cloths and braids
- Maintains quality by inspecting finished product
- Using other types of machines (for example)
Basting
Zig-Zag
Blind Hemmer
Overlocker
Button Hole Machine
Pressing Equipment
CRITERIA
Experience:
- Experience in a similar role
- Apprenticeship would be considered
Aptitudes:
- Excellent verbal and good basic standard of written communication skills
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- A commitment to continuous quality improvement
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
